Our Bracing Process in Orillia and Bracebridge
A simple, supportive process from assessment to brace adjustments.
Book Your Appointment
Booking an appointment at Bremner Orthopaedic Bracing is the first step. No referral is needed, and we welcome individuals from the Simcoe and Muskoka areas. Schedule online or call our clinic directly. Please note there is a one-time initial consultation fee ($25–$40), which includes a comprehensive assessment, measurements, and product trials, and may be covered by extended health insurance. If your insurance provider requires a referral for coverage, you may wish to obtain one before your visit.
Assessment
During your appointment, our team takes time to understand your concerns, symptoms, activity level, and goals. We may ask about your daily movements, recent injuries, or any recommendations from your healthcare team. This information helps us recommend the best orthopaedic bracing solutions for your needs.
Brace Selection
Based on your needs, we present options that may include custom or off-the-shelf bracing solutions. We explain how each brace works, what it supports, and when it may be most effective. Our goal is to help you feel confident in choosing the bracing solution that best supports your mobility and recovery.
Professional Fitting
Proper fit is essential for comfort and effectiveness. Our specialists adjust your brace for correct alignment, secure support, and ease of movement. We make sure the brace feels comfortable and explain how to make small adjustments at home if needed.
Education & Instructions
We provide clear instructions on wearing, caring for, and adjusting your orthopaedic brace. Our guidance covers when to wear it, how long to use it, activities to avoid, and steps for cleaning and maintenance. We make sure you leave our Orillia and Bracebridge clinics feeling confident and supported.
Optional Recovery Support
If appropriate, we discuss additional recovery options such as cryotherapy or Game Ready cold and compression therapy. These services support comfort, swelling management, and recovery during early healing or periods of increased activity.
Ongoing Support
We are here to help with questions or adjustments. Follow-up appointments ensure your brace continues to fit well as your activity level, symptoms, or recovery stage changes. Our ongoing support helps you get the most from your brace and keeps you comfortable
